This might seem an unusal topic for my weekend inspiration posts, but I’m sure there are those of you out there who know that either you, or your kids, have had a tougher time, growing up, than many. I believe every parent hopes their child will have a better life than they had, and that they try to give their kids everything necessary to set them on the road to success. It’s just that life gets in the way, and things can go wrong – when they do it can be easy to think that your life, or your child’s life, isn’t going to be the perfect and happy success story you hoped for. Regina Hartley blasts that myth out of the water – she tells her own story and makes the case for ‘the scrapper’ – the person who overcomes the obstacles to make a success of themselves despite the odds.
The take away I want to give you from this is that it is resilience and determination that can make the difference between success and failure. Exam results don’t predict success, they only show ability in an academic arena.
I hope you enjoy it – leave a comment and let me know what you think.
